Bearing maker from Italy to set up shop in South Carolina
Time:17 Feb,2016
An Italian company that makes bearing components is expanding to the Lowcountry.
BUSCOT LLC said it is establishing manufacturing operations in Colleton County.
The company’s $1.15 million investment is expected to create 10 new jobs over the next five years, according to the state Commerce Department.
BUSCOT is leasing space in the Meter Bearings site at 220 Anderson Road in Walterboro. Meter also is an Italian company.
“When Meter Bearings located here, it was great incentive for us to do the same,” BUSCOT co-founder Giorgio Bussone said in a statement. “We work well with them and can fill the need for more specialized products.”
BUSCOT will produce flanges, washers and rings for precision ball bearings and roller bearings. It said it has an established customer base that it expects will grow after it begins U.S. production in Colleton this year.
