Vestas to supply 52 MW of turbines to Norwegian wind farm
Time:03 Mar,2016
March 2 (SeeNews) - Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) on Tuesday said it has received a 52-MW order in Norway for its upgraded 3-MW platform.
The contract comes from Hamnefjell Vindkraft AS, a joint venture by Finnmark Kraft AS and private investment company Ardian. It calls for Vestas to supply, install and commission 15 units of its V112-3.45 MW machine at the Hamnefjell wind farm in northeastern Norway. The Danish company expects to start turbine deliveries under the contract in the second quarter of 2017.
The deal also includes a 15-year Active Output Management (AOM) 5000 service agreement.
According to Hamnefjell Vindkraft's chief executive Lise Mette Heggheim, the wind farm will be one of the northernmost wind projects in Europe, built on a location offering outstanding wind resources.
"This project is significant as it showcases Norway’s wind energy potential as well as the 3 MW platform’s fit for the Norwegian market," said Klaus Steen Mortensen, president, Vestas Northern Europe.
