In addition to specific environmental influences, statutory requirements in the food and beverage industry also call for the use of adapted bearing solutions. To accommodate these requirements, Schaeffler is offering a range of deep groove ball bearings, as part of its new Food program, with bearing rings, cages, androlling elementsmade from corrosion-resistant steels. The lubricating grease used is non-toxic, allergen-free, neutral in taste and odor, and suitable for applications where contact between food and lubricant cannot always be ruled out (NSF-H1 classification). The bearings are sealed on both sides using contact-type, steel-reinforced elastomer lip seals made from NBR. Ball bearings used in the Food program are identified by the suffix FD.
