Schaeffler donates proceeds from fines to charitable organizations

The Erlangen Autonomous Women's Shelter invests the donation in excursions and vacations for the women it cares for

Anyone who parks incorrectly has to pay: even on the Schaeffler factory premises in Herzogenaurach. This is regulated by a company agreement, according to which a wrongly parked vehicle can be prevented from leaving with a so-called parking claw. Employees can only continue driving after paying a fine. However, the money raised in this way does not stay with the company, but is donated to social and charitable organizations in the region. In this way, employees make a contribution to the common good.

12,000 euros were raised through parking violations and Schaeffler is donating the amount equally to three charitable organizations. For the first time, 4,000 euros will go to the Erlangen Autonomous Women's Shelter, which advises women and takes them in in acute cases of violence. In this case, the facility offers twelve rooms for women aged 18 and over and their children. The employees of the women's shelter support the women on their way back to an independent life, free from psychological and/or physical violence.

In addition to consultations and everyday help, the employees and women also go on excursions. For example, you go to animal and amusement parks together and have fun experiences in the group. Part of the donation money will be used for exactly this purpose.

In addition to the Erlangen women's shelter, the Herzogenaurach hospice association and Lebenshilfe Erlangen-H?chstadt each received 4,000 euros. The Herzogenaurach hospice association is celebrating its 20th anniversary and will invest part of the donation in the anniversary celebration. The other part will be used for an information day next spring.
